Freeway - Receipting Purchase Orders Linked To Shipments

We are pleased to announce new Freeway functionality enabling Freeway users the ability to update Shipment Receipt Quantities of Shipment Lines linked to a Purchase Order.

This new functionality has been released in Minor Update 124 (Update 242) yesterday. Users can immediately start using this functionality with minimal configuration changes. Please ensure you have read the Pre-Requisites before implementing.

Pre-Requisites:
  • As with Freeways current receipting of Purchase Orders you must have a Style Template defined using a Creation Style when selecting Purchase of "Update Receipt"
  • The RECEIPTFIELDS Template Type (from within the Style Template) is not used when receipting against a Shipment
  • The Purchase Rule Default Shipment Qty to Zero must be turned ON. (Freeway will display a warning against the Purchase Order, if that order is linked to a Shipment and this rule is not turned on. Refer screenshot below)
  • If a Purchase Order is linked to multiple Shipments (ie: with a current Shipment Status of Planned, Departed or Landed), Freeway will only update the earliest Shipment Number that Purchase Order exists against.
Process:

From selecting Purchase (For Receipt) Lookup within Freeway, the Purchase Order List will now display the Shipment Number alongside if that Order is linked to a current Shipment.

If the The Purchase Rule Default Shipment Qty to Zero is NOT turned on, Freeway will display the following message in the Purchase Order Lookup list
** Default Shipment Qty Zero Rule not set **
** Purchase Order Unable to be Receipted **

The actual receipting process is no different to that of receipting a Purchase Order via Freeway, with the exception in this case the Shipment Receipt Quantities will be updated. As with any other Shipment, a Posted Purchase Receipt will only be created when the Shipment has been Closed.
